duPont Gallery at The University of Mary Washington (Nov 7, 2024-Jan 19, 2025)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The University of Mary Washington Galleries is pleased to welcome back the Mid-Atlantic New Painting Biennial exhibition in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Begun in 1997, this juried exhibition highlights new developments in painting by talented artists within our region. The 2024 open call received a record 593 entries and this year\u2019s exhibition features 76 impressive and varied paintings from 69 artists working across eight states and the District of Columbia. From this expressive array, one work is purchased by UMW Galleries to become part of the permanent collection and three cash awards are given. Awards will be announced at the opening reception.<\/p>\n<p>The Mid-Atlantic New Painting Biennial is made possible by the generosity of Alfred Levitt.
